Everything you need to know about custom pizza boxes

Custom pizza boxes are standard corrugated pizza boxes printed with your logo, brand colors, menu, or social handles. They do the same job as a plain kraft box — protecting the pie, holding heat, and stacking cleanly — but they turn every delivery and carry-out order into a branded impression. For pizzerias, chains, ghost kitchens, food trucks, and caterers, that means a more professional presentation and free advertising that rides along on every order that leaves the kitchen.

Because they’re printed to order, the right specification depends on your menu sizes, your kitchen throughput, and how the boxes will travel. This guide walks through the box sizes and dimensions available, the corrugated board grades that drive strength and heat retention, the stock and print styles you can choose, how the ordering process runs from artwork to delivery, and how bulk wholesale pricing works. If you already know what you need, you can request a custom quote at any point.

Why go custom

A branded box works twice — packaging and marketing

Plain boxes blend in and say nothing about who made the pizza. A custom pizza box printed with your logo does the same protective job while putting your brand on the counter, in the car, and on the customer’s table. Whether you run a single neighborhood pizzeria or a fleet of delivery kitchens, branded boxes make your food look considered and unmistakably yours.

Brand visibility

Every box becomes a mini billboard. Print your logo, tagline, phone number or QR code in full color so your brand travels with every order.

Built for the pie

Food-grade corrugated board that holds shape under a hot pizza, vents steam to protect the crust, and stacks securely for delivery.

Made to spec

Pick the size, board grade, stock color, and print — we match Pantone brand colors and handle bulk runs from starter cases to full pallets.

Sizes & dimensions

Pizza box sizes: which one fits your menu?

Box size is measured by the inside width, which is matched to the diameter of the pizza it holds. A box should be about the same size as the pie so the pizza sits flat without sliding. Here’s how the common sizes compare across a typical menu.

Box size by menu tier

Match the box to your pizza diameter — a snug box keeps the pie centered and the toppings intact in transit.

Corrugated board thickness by grade

Thicker board adds rigidity and insulation. B-flute is the common choice for pizza; E-flute prints crisply for a smoother finish.

Materials & durability

Built to hold heat and keep your brand sharp

Our custom pizza boxes are made from food-grade corrugated board — a fluted inner layer sandwiched between flat liners. That fluted core is what gives the box its strength and insulation: it resists crushing when boxes are stacked, holds its shape under a hot pizza, and creates an air gap that helps keep the pie warm and the crust from going soggy in transit.

You choose the board grade and stock that match how the boxes will travel. Kraft (natural brown) is the workhorse for everyday delivery, while bright white clay-coated stock gives logos and photography more pop. Corner vents and the corrugation itself let steam escape so the crust stays crisp. A lightweight carry-out box and a stackable delivery-fleet box are specified differently — tell us your setup and we’ll match the board to it.

  • Food-grade corrugated board — safe for direct food contact
  • Fluted core — rigidity, stacking strength and heat retention
  • Kraft or white stock — natural brown or bright clay-coated
  • Steam venting — corner vents help keep the crust crisp
  • Grease-resistant options — coatings to guard against soak-through
  • Cured, food-safe inks — scuff-resistant printing that stays sharp

Bulk & wholesale pricing

How custom pizza box pricing works

Custom pizza boxes are priced per unit, and the per-box price drops as your quantity climbs. Your final quote depends on four things: box size, board grade and stock, number of print colors, and total quantity. Larger wholesale runs and simpler artwork bring the unit cost down the most.

FAQ

Custom pizza box questions, answered

What’s the minimum order for custom pizza boxes?
Custom printed runs are sold in bulk, and larger quantities lower the per-box price. Smaller starter cases can often be arranged for new menus — request a quote with your target quantity and sizes for exact numbers.
What pizza box sizes are available?
Common sizes are 8", 10", 12", 14", 16" and 18", measured by the inside width to match the pizza diameter. The 12" and 14" boxes are the everyday workhorses; 8"–10" suit personal pies and 16"–18" handle party and catering orders.
How do I choose the right box size?
Match the box to your pizza’s diameter so the pie sits flat without sliding. If your 14" large is your best seller, a 14" box is your core size. Most pizzerias stock two or three sizes to cover their menu.
What are custom pizza boxes made of?
They’re made from food-grade corrugated board — a fluted core between flat liners. The corrugation adds rigidity for stacking and creates an air gap that helps retain heat and keep the crust from going soggy in transit.
What’s the difference between E-flute and B-flute?
B-flute is thicker (around 3 mm), giving more rigidity and insulation, which is why it’s the common choice for pizza. E-flute is thinner (around 1.5 mm) with a smoother surface that prints crisply — a good fit when high-detail artwork matters most.
Can I get kraft or white boxes?
Both. Natural kraft is the classic brown delivery box, while bright white clay-coated stock gives logos, photos and gradients much more pop. We can print your artwork on either.
How is my logo printed on the box?
Logos are printed with food-safe inks — from a clean one-color flexo stamp to full-color artwork across the lid and sides. Send us vector artwork and we’ll proof the placement before production.
Are the boxes food-safe and grease-resistant?
Yes. The board and inks are food-grade and safe for direct contact with pizza. Grease-resistant coatings can be added to help guard against oil soak-through on the base for oilier pies.
Can you match my exact brand colors?
Yes. We print to your specified Pantone (PMS) colors so your boxes match the rest of your packaging, signage and menus for a consistent look.
What artwork format do you need?
Vector files (AI, EPS, PDF, or SVG) give the cleanest print, but we can work from high-resolution PNGs or existing logos too. Send whatever you have and we’ll let you know if we need anything sharper before proofing.
What’s the typical turnaround time?
Turnaround depends on quantity, sizes and artwork complexity. After artwork is approved, orders move into production — share your launch or deadline date in your quote request and we’ll confirm timing.
Do you ship nationwide, and do boxes arrive flat?
Yes, we ship custom box orders across the U.S., and boxes arrive flat-packed to save space — you fold them as you go. Shipping is quoted with your order based on quantity, size and destination.
How do I get a quote?
Use the custom quote form with your sizes, quantity, stock and artwork, or call (929) 605-4397. You’ll get pricing and a production timeline back quickly.
